Support This Space!
Bridport, known for its vibrant community and natural beauty, deserves a delightful new outdoor spot outside of town where locals and visitors alike can unwind and enjoy good company. Imagine this paddock being opened up as a community asset, accessible for all – featuring an outside bar and refreshment trailer crafted cleverly from an old horse box. That’s our next ambition as we look to further expand our Seal’s Cove offering… But we need your support!
When this land was first acquired by Seal’s Cove, it’s safe to say that it was in a very sorry state. Overrun with brambles, littered with used needles and covered in dog mess – it bared no resemblance to the lush green vista you see today. The land required to build this footpath was donated to the council free of charge, thus establishing a pleasant, peaceful and picturesque walking artery between Bradpole and Bridport town centre.
Creating some form of outdoor offering was always part of the wider Seal’s Cove development plan. Humble beginnings – simple seating with a converted horse box offering hot and cold drinks and refreshments – would grow into a multi-use community space for local people of all ages to enjoy. None of this would change the appearance or character of the area, but instead enhance it. We’ve worked very hard to create this green space, and we intend to keep it as green as possible for everyone to enjoy.
This project aligns with Bridport’s values of innovation and community spirit. It aims to enhance our town’s appeal, support local businesses and offer space for a joyful escape in the sun.
